I found this fun old magazine advertisement from the company Silicon River which wanted to sell you this amazing brain implant product so that you can learn C++ in 9 seconds - the lazy way! Whouldn't that be something?
Lucky for us C++ programmers this is only for fun. To learn C++ takes considerable time. It is a huge language with a lot of freedom, flexibility and hence pitfalls. If you've read Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell you may be familiar with the 10.000-hours rule, which says that it takes approx 10 years to master something. For me that doesn't sound entirely wrong. For new C++ programmers I hope the new C++11 standard will make thier programming life a bit easier.
