Universal Desktop #5

It has been some time since my previous Universal Desktop blogposts, however it doesn't mean that the war (see #1) has stopped.

For once I've found the blogpost The Web is a web of content, not an application framework by Roger Johansen (May 2010) in which he makes the case that the user experience (UX) of a web application never can be as good as an application on a native platform.

Secondly it may be no surprise that Google are chrunching on with thier own battleplan. It is interesting to follow the progress on the Chrome OS and specifically with the Native Client. I'm sure they have a plan to make it the Universal Desktop.
