Cameron Moll in his weblog guides you through some general UI principles that - of course - makes it into web user experience design principles (no talk of AJAX or Web 2.0 here). The lines between web user experience and traditional client application user interface are blurring - finally I may add. Unfortunately the best client user experiences are still far ahead of web user experiences.
And of course he refer to Bruce Tognazzini's "First Principles of Interaction Design".
